This week I looked for something different to do and asked David Wibberly of The Bordeauxroom to come up with a theme for us.
This is what David does – he organises personalised tastings with the winemaker present. He’ll do it in your house, your office, or at a team building event. In fact, David will go anywhere.
He chose for us a range of wines which are members of the Biodiversity and Wine Initiative. This is a conservation partnership with the wine industry aimed at conserving and protecting the Western Cape environment, plant and animal species and the maintenance of living landscapes.
All very good stuff, but what about the wines? David picked 6 wines for us to taste, pointing out that in addition to there being red, white and rose wines, now we had green ones.
He picked a Rose, a Chardonnay, a Sauvignon Blanc, a Merlot, a Shiraz and a Cabernet Sauvignon…

It is fantastic to see something as unique as this, comparing varieties of wines where all the farms, like ourselves, are committed to biodiversity.
