Featured Restaurant: Mange Tout

We have gone very local this week with our featured restaurant. Mange Tout is on the Mont Rochelle Estate in Franschhoek and we are proud to be featured on their wine list. This, from the restaurant themselves:

Mange Tout is a French word for ‘small peas eaten in a pod’, also known as snow peas or directly translated the word means ‘eat everything’. An expansive winelist offers the finest wines the Valley has to offer, as well as some excellent European wines.

Executive Chef Ryan Smith is at the helm at Mont Rochelle, and says that in another life, he would have been the quintessential artist. Inspired in particular by the vivid textures and colours of the universe as reflected in the work of renowned artist Jackson Pollack, Ryan enjoys expressing this spirit of creation in the presentation of each dish on the Mont Rochelle menu.

A taste of one of the delicious menu highlights at Mange Tout is the perfect indulgence. With choices such as Wild Mushroom Pancake with Chicken and Coriander Bolognaise and Tangy Pecan Nut Crust; Tiger Prawns Tempura with Sweet Corn Puree, Fried Quail’s Eggs, Truffle Shavings and Oil; and Butternut Veloute with Rabbit Cannelloni, Rabbit Jus and Cinnamon Milk – you’ll be hard-pressed to decide on just one. You’ll also find the chef’s choice of desserts such as Coffee Crème Brulee and Marmalade Ice-Cream or melt-in-the-mouth Chocolate Meringues irresistible.
